Hi! My name is Valerie Madison-Nethery and I'm the jewelry designer behind LilyEmme Jewelry. I've spent most of my life in Seattle, WA where the mossy green forests meet the deep blue moody sea. This misty/rainy city has grown on me and is a part of my heart now.
I have a strong love and admiration for the natural world so I originally planned to work in wildlife ecology. While working on my degree in Environmental Science & Resource Management from the University of Washington, I discovered jewelry by happenstance and I found that I was very passionate about it. The shift to working in jewelry took some time but I found ways to maintaining my love for the environment and by finding ways to apply environmental responsibility to my jewelry line.
I see jewelry as a reflection of our individual style and a marker of our personal journeys so I strive to create simple, elegant, and high quality pieces that can be worn every day for a lifetime or more. My jewelry is made to order, custom to your size and preferences. Many of our customers hear about my jewelry collections through word of mouth for the quality and attention to detail our team puts into our pieces and the friendly customer service that we aim to provide.
Today I design and create jewelry in a beautifully renovated, century-old, charming industrial building with high ceilings, exposed beams, and bright white walls. It's crawling with greenery on the inside and flooded with natural light through the afternoons. It's a wonderful place to work in and I love having visitors if you'd ever like to visit our jewelry studio.
P.S. In case you're curious, the name LilyEmme (Lily "M") was inspired by a very close family member's name, Lilyana Mireya, a major source of inspiration to make beautiful adornments while I took my first steps into jewelry. Today Lily continues to be a beautiful ray of sunshine in my life and I'm so happy that I named this adventure after her.
